Project 2 : C2C Christmas Blanket

Pattern by Repeat Crafter Me – https://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2015/09/crochet-christmas-character-afghan.html

I started this project many years ago, maybe around 2015? It was my first introduction into Corner to Corner crochet (C2C) and has inspired many of my completed projects since. The reason it remains unfinished is because I was so inspired by this amazing blanket, that I went on to create my own graphs to be used in blankets and cushion covers! C2C is probably my favourite crochet style, it works up super fast and you can literally create any pixelated graph you like!

I got this project back out of storage early January 2022. I decided to get going again with this one as soon as possible, as its such an easy one to finish! I can complete one of the squares in around 6 hours, so only a weeks work to complete the whole thing if I get a move on. I had previously done 6 out of the 9 squares needed and the top border. On the first day I completed the reindeer and I am now halfway through the snowman!

Watch this space folks….

Project 1 : Wales Blanket (AKA Yuletide Blanket)

Pattern by Attic24 – https://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/yuletide-blanket.html

I saw this blanket on the Attic 24 site in October 2021 and raided my yarn stash for similar colours. We had a family holiday to Wales booked in for late October, what better chance to start this blanket then on the 6 hour car journey! I love Attic 24 patterns, they are written so well and really addictive!

Gradually this blanket grew and grew…. it’s a great pattern if you want to sit and mindlessly crochet while watching TV. This blanket accompanied me to various different locations, including two births!

I enjoyed making this blanket so much, I have been thinking up ways I can modify it into different forms…. I would love to make a smaller version into a baby blanket.

Mission 2022: 50 projects

Over the Christmas break I spent a whole day sorting out may various crochet projects and my huge yarn stash. I have a lot…. of both! A quick count up revealed I have over 50 projects on the go, some dating as far back as 2006. Each project has unique details such as why I stopped, where the yarn came from, or what was going on in my life around that time.

It was then I decided my 2022 mission would be to complete as many of these ongoing projects as possible. The idea for this blog was also born then… a way for me to track my progress, share my finished projects with you all and inspire me to keep on going!
